Stefan will be, for his third year, teaching at the Arkansas Governor's School during the months of June and July of 2014. He will host lectures on various subjects including Music Theory and Ear Training, Repertoire, and Composition techniques. The Governor's school is in Conway, Arkansas. Stefan wins the 2013 BMI student composer awards for his piece 'Acrobats: Etude-Variations for piano four hands'. BMI holds an annual competition for composers in which a total of $20,000 is given to ten composers. More information and pictures of the award ceremony can be found here.


Stefan Cwik and fellow composer Joseph Stillwell are hosting a joint recital! The recital will take place on Sunday, May 11th at 3pm. It will be held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Francisco, 1187 Franklin Street, San Francisco, CA. The recital will include a number chamber works by both composers and two world premieres by Stefan: "Prayer for the Pilgrim" for Soprano and Piano and "Cycles" for solo piano, performed by pianist Scott Foglesong.
